Alkesh Patel, Founder & CEO
Alkesh completed his master’s program at George Mason University and counts on over a decade working at a community level with under-served and underprivileged adults, youth and families.The impetus to form the Therapeutic Alliance, a virginia based community services provider, emerged from a sincere desire to serve grounded in open communication, a culture of sharing, and most important, trust in the therapeutic relationship.
Alkesh was born on the 4th of July and his struggle embodies the very definition of “The American Dream.” He is a devoted and passionate leader which shines through each and every employee and client that the Therapeutic Alliance serves.

He was born in Khartoum, Sudan, spend the next 16 years living and raising in several countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe, and Northern America. Mr. Elsirag joined Therapeutic Alliance in 2010, where he works closely with director and owner Mr. Alkesh Patel, LPC, to develop, implement, evaluate, coordinate, communicate, and interpret goals, objectives, policies, procedures, standards, programs, and services in collaboration with administration, support staff, and the general public.
Prior to graduating, Mr. Elsirag worked as Site Director with Fairfax County office of Community and Recreation Services. As a director, he coordinated the development and teaching of a variety of educational classes to students in low-income communities. He also planned, organized, problem-solved and facilitated after-school programs for school-age children in a community center, and assessed student needs and interests to develop suitable programs and services. Mr. Elsirag developed creative programs and educational classes that were recognized throughout the county.
After graduation, he started as an Intensive In-home counselor with an agency that served various regions in the state, worked in several offices, gaining a tremendous deal of experience working with adolescent children and adults with different backgrounds, ages, and beliefs. He continued to excel on given tasks and was elected as a mentor and part of a focus group to help develop programs, policies, and procedures for that particular agency. Mr. Elsirag then joined Therapeutic Alliance to utilize his strengths, experience, skills and knowledge on culture to help raise the awareness and help individuals with different cultural backgrounds.

Megan Wallace, Site Director, FallsChurch
Megan Wallace currently serves as the Site Director for the Agency’s Falls Church Office. Megan received a Bachelors of Science in Sociology from the University of Virginia. Following her undergraduate work, she relocated to Richmond, Virginia in which she graduated with a Masters of Social Work with a Certification in School Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Megan has recently completed the required supervision hours towards becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
Megan has held several roles within the Agency, her first role being a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) providing direct services to families and clients in our Autism Behavioral Services Program. Megan credits her passion and commitment to quality client care to her first role within the Agency. Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as being actively involved with various youth community projects.

Mahum Hameed, Site Director, Sterling
Mahum is the Assistant Site Director for the Loudoun office. Mahum’s educational background is in Social Work with a Master’s degree from George Mason University. Mahum is currently working towards her clinical social work licensure (LCSW).  She comes to us from Loudoun County Mental Health where she worked as a Care Coordinator with the WrapAround Loudoun program. Mahum has extensive experience providing intensive in-home counseling services to at-risk children and youth in the IIH program with two different in-home providers. Mahum is passionate about working with children and teens with depressive disorders. Her future goals are to obtain her LCSW and open up her own private practice, as well as completing a Ph.D. with a focus on trauma-informed therapy. In her leisure time, Mahum enjoys playing with her 1-year-old daughter, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.

Desiree’ King BA, QMHP
She was born in Lynchburg Virginia and relocated to Virginia Beach in 2011. She is the Site Director for our Hampton Roads office. Desiree’ have been working for 10 years with adults and children that have been diagnosed with developmental disabilities and mental health illnesses. She has worked with a state residential facility, day support, day treatment, ICF and a private mental health counseling company. Desiree’ started her career with a job as a direct care professional by mistake and developed a passion for working with children and adults that are duel diagnosed. Desiree’s previous position before coming to the company was an Assistant Program Manager and part time QMHP. Desiree is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Human Service Counseling: Executive Leadership from Liberty University of her hometown. She enjoys shopping, traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
